# Use-case atlas

> Complete examples: datasets, applications, companion systems, journeys and recipes.

A use case defines a business outcome. A recipe defines the complete stack used to achieve it. An execution report records what was actually observed for a particular source and dataset.

| Use case | Outcome | Recipes |
| - | - | - |
| [Allocate scarce stock and review scenarios](/use-cases/northstar/index) | Compare allocation policies, publish an exact reviewed decision, and reconcile a shipment without duplicate effects. | Branches with a controlled carrier |
| [Invoice exceptions from complete data releases](/use-cases/sales-exceptions/index) | Publish exact invoice totals, investigate exceptions, and retain decisions as source corrections arrive. | Bounded transactional ETL, GCP Spark with validated operational publication |
| [Customer support with bounded agent authority](/use-cases/support-desk/index) | Verify a customer, answer with scoped facts, and request a refund through reviewed business operations. | Support desk with a hosted model, Deterministic support rules |
