# Xero

### pull: If-Modified-Since pages in XML, DELETED as deletion, idempotency-keyed creates

## Provider guidance

One organisation per binding: setup `tenantId` (from
`GET https://api.xero.com/connections`) is sent as `xero-tenant-id`, and the
account identity is the organisation's `OrganisationID`. The connection holds a
`xero` credential (`xero.credential`), an OAuth 2.0 grant.

Responses are read as XML, Xero's default, so every amount is Xero's own
decimal text beside `currency`. Invoices and contacts are read as paged
summaries (`summaryOnly=true`); the first pass walks every page, each finished
pass hands on the latest `UpdatedDateUTC` it read, and the next one sends
`If-Modified-Since` five minutes before it. Every `fullEvery`-th pass walks
again, which also catches edits Xero states move no timestamp. The record
version is `UpdatedDateUTC`.

An invoice with status `DELETED` is a deletion; `VOIDED` stays present.
Contacts are never deleted, and archived ones are read.

`invoices` `create` and `contacts` `update` send the operation identity as
`Idempotency-Key`, which Xero keeps for six minutes and refuses with a changed
request. Xero has no precondition, so both writes are unconditional.

`updates: "webhooks"` admits `x-xero-signature` deliveries as refresh hints and
answers a badly signed one 401, which Xero's intent-to-receive check requires.
A 429's `Retry-After` is honoured, and requests share a 60-per-minute budget.
