# Workshops and dashboards

> Presentation surfaces that compose reads you already have.

## Dashboards

A dashboard panel reads **exactly one** governed function. It never owns object
querying, sorting, grouping, aggregation, or row limits. Change the shape by
changing the function, not the panel.

## Workshops

A Workshop is one static twelve-column composition of a closed block set:

* selection
* selected object
* declared link
* governed-function panel
* contextual action
* platform work

Its typed selections are **browser-local and ephemeral**. A Workshop never stores
application state and never creates a read, mutation, review, or scheduling
boundary of its own. It is an arrangement of things that already exist,
positioned for one job.

## Home

`home.star` selects the title, the suggestions, and one static twelve-column grid
composed only from canonical dashboard panels plus the closed `home_attention`,
`home_inbox`, `home_recent`, and `home_links` platform blocks. Homepage pins
target permission-filtered object collections or a file-name prefix.

## What none of them may do

Home and Workshops never embed arbitrary HTML, frontend components, URLs, SQL or
query shapes, event handlers, or a runtime-persisted layout.
