# bijection lake

> Inspect and read the deployment's default lake

## bijection lake

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light-default","dark":"github-dark-default"}}
Datasets without a storage binding publish to the deployment's default lake: Iceberg tables on Bijection storage that Bijection maintains. External engines read it over Iceberg REST.
Usage:
  bijection lake [flags]
  bijection lake [command]
Available Commands:
  connect     Print an engine's Iceberg REST configuration and a short-lived read token
  status      Show whether the deployment's default lake is provisioned
Flags:
  -h, --help        help for lake
      --help-all    Show all commands and options, including administrative controls.
      --help-json   Print command input and output schemas as JSON without executing it.
Use "bijection lake [command] --help" for more information about a command.
## bijection lake connect
```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light-default","dark":"github-dark-default"}}
The token reads namespace datasets only and expires within minutes; Lakekeeper vends read-only credentials scoped to each table. Protected datasets are not in that namespace; bijection dataset connect reads one version through its policy-scoped copy.

Usage:
  bijection lake connect [flags]

Flags:
      --component string Installed datasets component path (default: datasets)
      --dataset string Require read access to this dataset; protected datasets are refused
      --deployment string Connect to the default lake of a specific deployment. Accepts:
                                • a deployment name (e.g. joyful-capybara-123)
                                • a deployment reference (e.g. dev/james, staging)
                                • dev (for your personal dev deployment)
                                • prod (for your project’s default production deployment).
                                You can also select deployments in other projects with project-slug:reference.
      --engine string Engine to configure (duckdb, spark, trino)
      --format string Output format; JSON preserves exact values. (pretty, json) (default "pretty")
  -h, --help                    help for connect
      --help-all Show all commands and options, including administrative controls.
      --help-json Print command input and output schemas as JSON without executing it.
      --sign-in-client string Select the installed application client for business sign-in
      --url string Connect to the default lake of a private deployment at this explicit origin.
```
## bijection lake status
```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light-default","dark":"github-dark-default"}}
Show whether the deployment's default lake is provisioned

Usage:
  bijection lake status [flags]

Flags:
