# bijection ai-files

> Manage Bijection AI files

Bijection AI files help AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) understand
Bijection patterns and APIs. They are set up during your first `bijection dev`
and can be managed at any time with the commands below.

## Syntax

## Subcommands

* [`bijection ai-files enable`](#bijection-ai-files-enable) — Enable Bijection AI files

* [`bijection ai-files disable`](#bijection-ai-files-disable) — Disable Bijection AI files without removing them

## `bijection ai-files status`

Prints whether Bijection AI files are enabled, and for each component:

* bijection/\_generated/ai/guidelines.md
* AGENTS.md (Bijection section)
* CLAUDE.md (if installed by Bijection)
* Agent skills

Fetches the latest hashes from version.bijection.dev to report whether
each file is up to date. If the network is unavailable the staleness
check is skipped silently.

### Syntax

## `bijection ai-files install`

Installs the following (or refreshes them if already present):

* bijection/\_generated/ai/guidelines.md
* AGENTS.md (Bijection section only)
* CLAUDE.md (Bijection section only)
* Agent skills (installed to each coding agent's native path, configured via bijection.json)

### Syntax

bijection ai-files install [options]

## `bijection ai-files enable`

Re-enables Bijection AI files by writing `aiFiles.enabled: true` to
`bijection.json`, then installs or refreshes the managed AI files.

### Syntax

bijection ai-files enable [options]
```

## `bijection ai-files update`

Updates the following to their latest versions:

* bijection/\_generated/ai/guidelines.md
* AGENTS.md (Bijection section only)
* CLAUDE.md (Bijection section only)
* Agent skills (installed to each coding agent's native path, configured via bijection.json)

### Syntax

```sh theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light-default","dark":"github-dark-default"}}
bijection ai-files update [options]
```

## `bijection ai-files disable`

Writes `aiFiles.enabled: false` to `bijection.json` so `bijection dev`
stops prompting to install AI files and suppresses staleness messages.

Files already installed are left untouched - use `bijection ai-files remove`
if you also want to delete them.

Run `bijection ai-files enable` to re-enable at any time.

### Syntax

## `bijection ai-files remove`

Removes the following:

* bijection/\_generated/ai/ directory (guidelines.md, ai-files.state.json)
* Bijection sections from AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md
* Agent skills installed by `bijection ai-files install`

If removing the managed section leaves AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md empty, the
empty file is deleted. Otherwise the rest of the file is kept.

Skills installed from other sources are not affected.

Note: after `remove`, `bijection dev` will suggest reinstalling AI files.
Use `bijection ai-files disable` to opt out entirely without deleting files.
